Beyond teaching, Howard is an accomplished performer and songwriter. 

A longtime member of the internationally recognized band Disappear Fear, he has recorded multiple solo albums and contributed music to film and television — including the PBS documentary Carrier, where his song Almost Home was featured and later named Song of the Year by Baltimore Magazine. 

His professional experience brings real-world insight to his lessons, giving students a rich, well-rounded perspective on music.
