With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Howard is known as a friendly, engaging, and highly skilled guitar and ukulele instructor.

His teaching philosophy is simple: meet each student where they are, and help them grow in a way that fits their unique goals and learning style. He makes lessons fun, inspiring, and rewarding. Howard has taught at respected institutions such as The Appalachian Bluegrass Shoppe, The Park School of Baltimore, and Young People’s Summer Stock at The Oldfields School.

Howard works with students of all ages and all abilities, instructs in a broad variety of styles, and can also vary the instruction program to include or even focus on music theory, songwriting, and accompaniment. The pace and content of the lessons are perfectly tailored to meet the needs and desires of the student.

Howard is available to teach in-person in your home or online, through popular platforms such as Zoom, FaceTime, and Google Meet.
